You don’t need an MBA to be a successful entrepreneur. In fact, an MBA might even be harmful, because once you have €100000 of debt, you will probably go and work for an investment bank or a consultancy firm rather than start your own business.

The following guys were (are) very successful entrepreneurs, and they did not have an MBA:

  • Steve Jobs (1955-2011): dropped out of Reed College (a university located in Portland, Oregon) in 1973 at the age of 18
  • Bill Gates (born 1955): dropped out of Harvard University (Cambridge, MA) in 1975 at the age of 20
  • Larry Ellison (born 1944): dropped out of the University of Illinois in 1966 at the age of 22
  • Larry Page (born 1973): dropped out of Stanford University (CA) in 1998 at the age of 25 (while working on his Ph.D.)
